MONTREAL – Club America teammates Dario Benedetto and Oribe Peralta shared the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) Golden Boot award after each finished the 2014/15 edition with seven goals.

Benedetto amassed his total in just two games, scoring three in Wednesday’s final, second leg encounter at the Impact de Montreal, a game that the Aguilas won 4-2 to capture the title 5-3 on aggregate.  The 24-year-old Argentinean hit for a record-equaling four goals in a 6-0 semifinal, second leg triumph over visiting Herediano on April 8.

Peralta, 31, found the back of the net in five of Club America’s 10 SCCL outings, striking in both legs of the final.  While with Santos in 2012, he also split the same award with Monterrey’s Humberto Suazo, as both tallied seven times.

Former Cruz Azul forward Javier Orozco, the competition’s all-time leading scorer with 24 goals, is the only player to take SCCL scoring honors twice.
