Panama claims key victory against Aruba in W Qualifiers
PENONOMÉ, Panama – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers continued with Panama earning a 3-1 win over Aruba in Group E on Thursday at Estadio Universitario in Penonomé, Panama.
Aruba’s Vanessa Susanna opened the scoring in the 5’, placing the visitors in the lead with a powerful hit from the right end of the box.
Panama leveled the scoring in the 16’, with Riley Tanner striking from the center of the box to capitalize on a delivery from Sherline King.
Arlén Hernández turned the scoring around for the hosts in the 29’ with a header at the far post off a corner. King provided the delivery on the play as she picked up her second assist of the match.
Karla Riley converted a penalty in the 73’ to round out the victory for Panama.
Aruba will retake the pitch on April 13 against Curaçao. Panama will look for another win in the W Qualifiers when it hosts Cuba on April 17.
