MIAMI — This week in Concacaf is headlined by the 2024 Concacaf Futsal Championship, with a new champion to be crowned on Saturday at the Polideportivo Alexis Arguello in Managua, Nicaragua.
The group stage began last Saturday and continued on Sunday. Defending champions Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, and Panama have qualified for the quarterfinals, and four more teams will confirm their participation during matchday three on Monday.
The quarterfinals will take place on Wednesday. The winners will not only advance to Thursday’s semifinals but also go on to represent Concacaf at the FIFA Futsal World Cup Uzbekistan 2024 in September.

Saturday will be the final day of the Futsal Championship with the final and third-place matches. Costa Rica is in search of their fifth title and fourth consecutive. The United States looks to win its third crown and Guatemala its second. Any other nation would be a first-time winner.
Entering Monday’s action, Canada’s Loic Kwemi leads the Golden Boot race with five goals. Guatemala’s Roberto Alvarado and Panama’s Abdiel Ortiz are on his heels with four each while eight other players have scored three.
