MIAMI, Florida – BBVA Stadium in Houston, Texas is set to host Gold Cup matches for the fifth straight time at the 2021 Gold Cup.

The stadium located in Downtown Houston and home to MLS side Houston Dynamo hosted its first Gold Cup matches in the 2013 edition when El Salvador defeated Haiti 1-0 and Trinidad and Tobago downed Honduras 2-0.

El Salvador returned to the Texan city for the 2015 Gold Cup, where they played to a 1-1 draw with Costa Rica, while Jamaica edged Canada 1-0.

Both Costa Rica and Canada were back at BBVA Stadium for the 2017 Gold Cup, as they battled to a 1-1 draw before the nightcap between Honduras and French Guiana ended officially as a 3-0 win for the Catrachos.

Goals were hard to come by at the two matches played at BBVA Stadium in the 2019 Gold Cup. El Salvador and Jamaica fought to a 0-0 draw, while in the second match history was made when Curacao won their first ever Gold Cup match in a 1-0 final over Honduras.

BBVA Stadium has also been the sight of several other official international matches, including Mexico’s 5-0 win against Guyana during Concacaf World Cup Qualifying for Brazil 2014 and the 2014 Copa Centroamericana.

The last two editions of the Concacaf Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship in 2016 and 2020 were also played at BBVA Stadium, including the 2016 CWOQ Final in which the United States defeated Canada 2-0.

At the club level, the Houston Dynamo have hosted seven Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League matches at BBVA Stadium.
