SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – El Salvador will bring a 22-member squad to Curacao for the opener of their World Cup Qualifying, third-round series on September 4 in Willemstad, the Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol announced Sunday.

It will be the Cuscatlecos’ first game under head coach Jorge Rodriguez, who was appointed to the post on August 21 after Albert Roca resigned a month earlier.

The roster contains five players from Isidro Metapan, the club that the 44-year-old also manages. David Rugamas – one of three forwards in the side -- scored for the Jaguares in a 2-1 loss to Tigres in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League on August 18.

An additional five players were selected from FAS, including forward Jose Peña. The 20-year-old netted the game-winning goal in El Salvador’s 2-1 victory over Australia in 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

El Salvador, which advanced to the third round of qualifying by overcoming St. Kitts & Nevis (agg: 6-3), will host the Curacaoans in the second leg on September 8.
