BRADENTON, Florida – The 2018 Concacaf Under-20 was back in action on Sunday, with a pair of matches in Group F.

Thanks to building early leads, both Guatemala and El Salvador notched 3-1 victories over Curacao and Cayman Islands, respectively.

Guatemala raced out to a 2-0 lead in the first 15 minutes through Carlos Alvarado (6’) and Edin Rivas (14’) before Oscar Mejia tacked on a third in the 57’.

The Curacao attack was stymied by the Chapines’ defense and only an own goal from Alvarado in the 90+3’ prevented the clean sheet win.

Two goals in a space of three minutes toward the end of the first half allowed El Salvador to control things against the Cayman Islands.

Jose Portillo converted a penalty in the 39’ and then two minutes later in the 41’ it was Jorge Cruz doubling the lead.

Fernando Clavel extended the advantage to three in the 51’, but that was quickly cancelled out by Kareem Foster’s score in the 56’ in what would be the game’s final goal.
