Dominica continues winning ways in Group D at CU20

BRADENTON, Florida Red-hot Dominica posted its second win of the 2018 Concacaf Under-20 Championship with a dramatic 2-1 win over Martinique to headline Group D action on Tuesday.

Raphael Axel gave Martinique a 1-0 lead in the 23’, but a pair of goals from Jamie Parillon in the 50’ and 68’ paved the way for another Dominica triumph.

There was no shortage of thrills in the second match in Group D, as Guadeloupe struck late to down a very difficult Saint Kitts and Nevis side.

Tyreese Shade had Saint Kitts and Nevis feeling good with a goal in the 6’, but Guadeloupe found two goals in two minutes through Mathis Bapaume (36’) and Luther Archimede (38’).

The young Sugar Boyz would not go away though, and they fancied their chances of getting a point after Dijhorn Simmonds’ equalizer in the 81, but Archimede rode to the rescue four minutes later in the 85’ to hand Guadeloupe its first victory in the CU20.

Capping the action in the group was a battle of the unbeatens as Panama downed Canada, 2-1. Saed Diaz scored in the 45+2’ and 59’, sandwiching a Noble Okello goal in the 55’ in the narrow win for the Canaleros.
