Corbin propels Trinidad to CFU U-20 title

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago – Kadeem Corbin netted a hat-trick and host Trinidad & Tobago earned a 3-0 victory over Haiti in the final of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men’s Under-20 Tournament on Friday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The lanky St. Ann’s Rangers attacker, known for his speed, opened the scoring in the 35th minute and then added strikes in the 82nd and 86th minutes.

For his performances throughout the competition, Corbin was named the Most Valuable Player and also won the Golden Boot award with four goals.

In the match for third place, all the goals came in the second half as Cuba edged past Aruba, 2-1.

Eddy Luiz Saname (54’) and Frank Lopez (88’) scored in a winning, while Aruba leveled for a short while through Ricky Hodge (85’).

All four sides had earlier booked places in the 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship, which will be held next January in Jamaica, by finishing first or second in Group A (1st: Trinidad & Tobago, 2nd: Cuba) or Group B (1st: Haiti, 2nd: Aruba).
