TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras – After being eliminated by eventual-champion Motagua in the semifinals of the 2014 Honduran Apertura, Olimpia is looking to bounce back in the Clausura, as well as progress in the 2014/2015 CONCACAF Champions League (CCL).

In a bid to meet those objectives, the Lions announced Friday the roster-strengthening acquisitions of forward Javier Estupiñán and midfielder Mario Leguizamón.

"I can only say that they are signed and that we have the contracts in hand,” said Olimpia vice-president Osman Madrid.

Estupiñán, a Colombian, is joining from Malaysia’s Terengganu, where he spent part of 2014.  The 30-year-old has previous experience in Honduras with Platense (2013) and Parrillas One (2014), netting 27 goals in 54 total games.

Leguizamón is coming off a campaign with second-division side Plaza Colonia in his native Uruguay.  This will be the 32-year-old’s first Central American stop in a career that has taken him to numerous clubs throughout South America.  He has also played with Peñarol (Uruguay), Emelec (Ecuador), Deportivo Táchira (Venezuela) and Cienciano (Peru).

Olimpia will host Herediano in the first leg of their CCL quarterfinal series on February 24, before traveling to Costa Rica for the return leg on March 5.
