2022 SCCL Final second leg hosting scenarios

MIAMI, Florida – To determine which club will host the second leg of the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Final, Concacaf will rank the two finalist clubs based on their results in the earlier rounds of the competition (wins, draws, and, if required, goal difference).

After the results of the 2022 SCCL semifinal first legs, the standings are as follows (also available here):

  1. Seattle Sounders FC (11 pts, +10 GD)
  2. Pumas UNAM (10 pts, +4 GD)
  3. Cruz Azul (10 pts, +3 GD)
  4. New York City FC (9 pts, +4 GD)

Going into the SCCL semifinal second leg matches, there are several scenarios in which all four semifinalist clubs could host the 2022 SCCL Final second leg.

Seattle Sounders FC will host 2022 SCCL Final second leg with:

  1. A win at NYCFC OR
  2. A draw at NYCFC + a draw between Cruz Azul and Pumas OR
  3. A defeat at NYCFC (in which Seattle advances on aggregate or penalties) + a draw between Cruz Azul and Pumas.

Pumas will host 2022 SCCL Final second leg with:

  1. A win at Cruz Azul + a Seattle Sounders draw at NYCFC OR
  2. A win at Cruz Azul + a Seattle Sounders defeat at NYCFC

Cruz Azul will host 2022 SCCL Final second leg with:

  1. A win versus Pumas (in which Cruz Azul advances on aggregate or penalties) + a Seattle Sounders defeat at NYCFC OR
  2. A win versus Pumas (in which Cruz Azul advances on aggregate or penalties) + a Seattle Sounders draw at NYCFC

New York City FC will host 2022 SCCL Final second leg with:

 

  1. A win versus Seattle Sounders (in which NYCFC advances on aggregate or penalties) + a draw between Cruz Azul and Pumas

Cruz Azul host Pumas on Tuesday night in their semifinal second leg, while NYCFC welcome in Seattle in their semifinal second leg on Wednesday night.
