MIAMI, Florida Two late goals from Stevenson Jeudi helped earn Haitian club Violette a 3-1 victory over Waterhouse of Jamaica in the semifinals of the 2022 Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship on Thursday at the Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

With the win, Violette advance to Sunday’s Final and are assured of at least a berth in the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf League. Waterhouse will play for a spot in the 2022 SCL in Sunday’s Third-Place Match.

It was action-packed from the opening whistle and Waterhouse only needed barely more than seven minutes to break the deadlock, as Andre Moulton smacked in a header to hand the Jamaicans a 1-0 lead.

But Violette would get back on level terms, 1-1, in the 21’ when Roberto Louima won a ball in midfield and fired a right-footed shot that squeezed past Waterhouse GK Kemar Foster.

Violette remained on the front foot as play entered the second half, with Elyvens Dejean missing just wide left in the 46’, followed by Jeudi’s wide volley in the 54’.

The Haitians kept plugging away and would be handsomely rewarded in the 75’, as a Jeudi header was initially blocked by Foster, but the spin on the ball took it across the line and into net to hand Violette a 2-1 lead.

Violette were keen to tack on a third for some insurance and they completed the 3-1 scoreline in the 87’ with Jeudi gathering a deflection and firing into net to round things out.
