OTTAWA – Canada interim head coach Michael Findlay announced Wednesday an 18-man roster for an international friendly at Korea Republic on November 11.

It will be the first match between the sides since Canada registered a 2-1 win at the 2002 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

"We are looking to set a real solid performance standard with this match," said Findlay. "The travel and logistics of this camp and opponent we will face in this match also provides us with an opportunity to assess the players' ability to adapt both on and off the field."

The selection includes players from professional clubs in 10 countries. Among the more experienced squad members are defenders Marcel de Jong (48 caps), David Edgar (40) and Dejan Jakovic (32), plus midfielder Adam Straith (39).

Seven players have made four or fewer appearances, including Shrewsbuty Town goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler, who is hoping to make his debut at 27-years-old.

Those competing in either the MLS or NASL playoffs, as well as those with some European clubs, were omitted in order to support them and their clubs as they focus on an important part of the club seasons.

Canada and Korea Republic have faced each other five times between 1985 and 2002, with both posting two wins.
