Guyana, Canada, Panama secure spots in Women’s U-20 Championship

MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Qualifiers defined three more group winners on Tuesday, as Guyana, Panama, and Canada have claimed their place in the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship. The final matchday of the qualifiers determined the last three spots in the Final Round. Guyana, Panama, and Canada secured first-place spots atop their respective groups, earning qualification for the Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship and continuing their qualification hopes for the FIFA Women's U-20 World Cup. ## Group A Haiti 0, Guyana 1 Guyana earned a 1-nil win against Haiti in Group A at the ABFA Technical Center in Saint John's, Antigua and Barbuda. Myanne Fernandes was the author of the lone goal of the match in the 57’, to secure three crucial points that meant a spot in the Final Round of the competition. Belize 3, Antigua and Barbuda 5 Antigua and Barbuda earned a 5-3 win against Belize in Group A at the ABFA Technical Center in Saint John's, Antigua and Barbuda. Ajahna Martin opened scoring with her second of the competition in the 22’. Iressiea Allen scored the second goal for Antigua and Barbuda with a right-footed shot in the 24’. An own goal from Riann Acal in the 28’ gave the hosts their third goal of the day. Khalydia Velasquez pulled one back for Belize in the 36’. Gabrielle De Suza scored the fourth goal of the match for Antigua and Barbuda with a left-footed volley in the 38’. Betsy Perez closed the first half with Belize’s second goal in the 45 '+1. Velasquez got a brace and the third goal for Belize with a header in the box from a free kick in the 79’. De Suza got the fifth goal for Antigua and Barbuda in the 90’+4, sealing her brace as the hosts ended their 2025 CWU20Q participation with a win.

Group C Cuba 6, Bonaire 0 Cuba won 6-nil against Bonaire in Group C at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The first goal for Las Leonas del Caribe came in the 43’ through the boots of Kennys Castellanos. Lorena Leiva doubled Cuba’s lead in the 45’+2’. Castellanos earned her brace when she scored the third goal for Cuba in the 67’. Ninel Ortega struck a right-footed free kick from outside the area in the 83’ to score the fourth goal for Cuba. An own goal from Gabriela Illidge in the 89’ gave Cuba its fifth goal of the match. Castellanos finished the game with a hat-trick, scoring the sixth goal for Cuba in the 90’+2. Dominican Republic 1, Panama 1 The Dominican Republic drew 1-1 with Panama in Group C at Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Shaday Mow broke the deadlock in the 60’ with a right-footed shot in the area. Panama got the equalizer in the 80’ through Renata Mercedes off a set piece.

Group E Bermuda 1, Dominica 2 Dominica won 2-1 against Bermuda in Group E at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago. Avani Patton scored the first goal of the match in the 4’ to place Bermuda in the lead. Kiyanna Phillip pulled one back for Dominica in the 11’. Le-Myah Forde completed the comeback in the 17’ with a right foot in the area to give Domica its first three points of the tournament. Canada 12, Trinidad and Tobago 0 Canada won 12-nil against Trinidad and Tobago in Group E at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago. Canada started its goal count in the 6’ thanks to a header by Annabelle Chukwu. Kaylee Hunter kept adding goals to her tally, getting the second for Canada from a free kick in the 8’. Chukwu earned her brace in the 11’. Léa Larocuhe extended the Canadian lead by four in the 36’. Juliette Perreault struck in the 50’ to give Canada its fifth goal of the match. Jeneva Hernandez Gray scored the sixth goal for the Reds in the 54’. Chukwu converted her hat-trick in the 56’. Kierra Blundell scored the eight for the North Americans in the 71’. Teegan Melenhorst scored the ninth goal for Canada in the 74’. Blundell got a brace in the 85’ and sealed her hat-trick in the 90’. Ella Kettles scored Canada’s final goal in the 90’+2 to close the victory.
