Haiti picks up important victory in Group A at the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship

PUEBLA, Mexico – The 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship continued with Haiti earning a 3-2 win over Cuba in Group A on Tuesday at Estadio Universitario BUAP in Puebla, Mexico.

Miguel Joseph opened the scoring to place Haiti in the lead in the 16’, picking up a rebound and tucking the ball away inside the box after an initial effort from Franco Celestin.

Celestin scored from the penalty spot to extend the lead for Les Grenadiers in the 34’.

Cuba cut one back in the 80’ through a free kick from Yankarlos Iglesias.

Jacquet Da-Benz struck from close range in the 90’+1’ to restore Haiti’s two-goal lead.

Robert Zerquera scored Cuba’s second in the 90’+4’, capitalizing on a delivery from the left by Iglesias with a finish from inside the box.
Haiti takes on El Salvador in its third and final Group Stage match on Friday. Cuba faces the Unites States on the same day.
