Fotsing brace powers Canada past Panama in U-20 Championship

The Reds earned a 3-0 win over Panama in Group C.

PUEBLA, Mexico – The 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship continued with Canada earning a 3-0 win over Panama in Group C on Sunday at Estadio Universitario BUAP in Puebla, Mexico.

Canada opened the scoring in the 9’ as Emrick Fotsing headed in a corner kick cross from Sergei Kozlovskiy.

The Reds doubled their lead in the 14’ when Liam Mackenzie converted from the penalty spot.

Panama was reduced to ten players when captain Oliver Campos was sent off in the 45’+2’ after receiving his second yellow card.

Fotsing put the finishing touch on the victory by scoring at the back post in the 90’+5’ to complete his brace.

Canada will continue its campaign against Honduras on Wednesday. Panama will seek to rebound against Jamaica earlier that day.
