Costa Rica and the United States have already secured FIFA U-20 World Cup qualification and will now battle for a place in the Final.

MIAMI – The first 2026 Concacaf U-20 Men’s Championship Semifinals will see Costa Rica face the United States – the 2024 U-20 Championship runners-up – on Friday at Estadio Banorte, Mexico City, Mexico.

By reaching the Semifinals, both teams have already qualified to the 2027 FIFA Men’s U-20 World Cup.

After winning a penalty shootout against Haiti, Costa Rica became the first semifinalist of the tournament, and the only Central American team to reach the Semifinals in this year’s edition of the tournament.

Yerlan Sosa has been a standout performer for Los Ticos, scoring the equalizing goal that sent the quarterfinal against Haiti to penalties; he has registered two goals so far in the competition.

The United States return to the U-20 Championship Semifinals after a 3-1 victory over Guatemala, extending their unbeaten run in the tournament.

Dino Klapija and Ruben Ramos each found the back of the net once again for the U.S. in the Quarterfinals, bringing their tallies up to three goals each and securing their places among the top scorers in the competition.
