Canada, Jamaica Meet Again in Quarterfinals

Group C’s top two meet again with a place in the final four on the line.

PUEBLA, Mexico – The 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship continues as Canada faces Jamaica in the Quarterfinals on Wednesday at Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla, Mexico.

Canada enters the knockout stage as it continues its pursuit of a third regional title and a first since 1996. The team advanced past the Group Stage, finishing first in Group C with five points from a 1W-2D-0L record. Midfielder Emrick Fotsing, who bagged a brace in the team’s 3-0 victory over Panama, has been one of the team’s primary contributors in attack with two goals in the tournament.

Jamaica continues its 23rd appearance in the Concacaf U-20 Championship, looking to match or improve on its best-ever finish of third place, achieved in 1970. The Reggae Boyz booked a spot in the Quarterfinals after finishing second in Group C with five points and a 1W-2D-0L record; Canada claimed the top spot in the group on goal difference.

Forward Jahmarie Nolan has led Jamaica’s attack and currently tied for the lead in the race for the tournament’s Golden Boot with three goals.

The match will be the sixth between the nations in U-20 Championship history, and the second in the 2026 edition. The series is even with a win per side, and three draws in the other encounters. The national teams recently met in the third and final Group C match, resulting in a 2-2 stalemate.
