Mexico Retains Top Spot in Concacaf Men’s National Team Rankings After FIFA World Cup 2026

MIAMI - Mexico remains atop the latest Concacaf Men’s National Team Rankings following the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The Concacaf Ranking Index grades all national teams across the confederation. Nations gain points from results in the Nations League, Gold Cup, World Cup Qualifiers, and other international matches.

The rankings from this post-World Cup window will also determine the seeding and draw pots for the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League A.

Mexico Remains No. 1 After FIFA World Cup 2026

Mexico (2,112) leads the overall rankings after co-hosting the FIFA World Cup for a record third time. The reigning Concacaf Gold Cup and Concacaf Nations League champions finished the tournament as the highest-ranked team from its region after an impressive run to the Round of 16.

USA Rises to Second Place

The United States (1,833) was the biggest mover this time around, with the co-hosts moving up two positions after also reaching the Round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup.

Co-hosts Canada Round Out the Top Three

Canada (1,799) rounds out the top three after a historic FIFA World Cup campaign. The Reds recorded their first win in the history of the competition in the Group Stage, followed by a run to the Round of 16 as the nation achieved its best FIFA World Cup finish to date.

Notably, all three co-hosts finished in the top two of their respective groups, won their Round of 32 matches, and advanced to the Round of 16.

Rounding out the Top Five Ahead of the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League

Panama (1,685) comes in at fourth place after a Group Stage exit in what marked the Central American nation’s second appearance at a FIFA World Cup. Costa Rica (1,624) rounds out the top five.

Top 10 Nations

The order of the remaining Top 10 nations remains unchanged beginning with Honduras (1,549) and Jamaica (1,515).

Haiti (1,452) ranks eighth after Les Grenadiers competed in their first FIFA World Cup in 52 years. Guatemala (1,436) follows in ninth, while Trinidad and Tobago (1,356) completes the Top 10.
