League C Breaks New Ground in 2026/27

A new Championship adds another prize to the promotion race in 2026/27.

MIAMI – The 2026/2027 Concacaf Nations League C is set to kick off with the Group Stage, which will take place from September 23 through October 6, as nine teams begin their journey towards promotion and crowning a League C Champion.

League Composition

League C will feature nine national teams participating in a Group Stage with the objective of advancing to the newly introduced League C Championship, where the first-ever League C champion will be crowned.

The nine national teams have been divided into three groups of three for the Group Stage, with each team set to play every opponent in its group twice for a total of four matches per team.

The groups for the League C Group Stage are as follows:

• Group A: Montserrat, Turks and Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands
• Group B: Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Anguilla
• Group C: Saint Martin, Bahamas, US Virgin Islands

Following Group Stage play during the September-October FIFA window, the three group winners and the best second-place finisher will advance to the League’s newly added Championship, where they will compete for the League C title.

Before the newly introduced League C Championship, the League C format only featured the Group Stage with straightforward promotion rules, with no tournament final or an overall champion being crowned.

In terms of qualification for the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup, at the conclusion of the Group Stage, the three group winners, along with the best second-place finisher, will advance to the League A and C Play-In. You can find all the information about the Qualification path here.

League C in the 2026/2027 Concacaf Nations League will follow the schedule outlined below:

• Group Stage: September 23 – October 6, 2026
• Championship (Semifinals, Third Place Match, and Final): March 22-30, 2027

The 2026/2027 Concacaf Nations League presents the fifth edition of the tournament, with past League C editions seeing four teams gaining promotion to League B and no overall champion being crowned in the competition.

• 2019–2020: Guadeloupe (Group A winner), Guatemala (Group B winner), St. Vincent and the Grenadines (Group C winner), and Bonaire (Group D winner)
• 2022–2023: Sint Maarten (Group A winner), Saint Kitts and Nevis (Group B winner), Saint Lucia (Group C winner), and Puerto Rico (Group D winner)
• 2023–2024: Aruba (Group A winner), Dominica (Group B winner), Saint Martin (Group C winner), and Bonaire (best second-placed team)
• 2024–2025: Barbados (Group A winner), Belize (Group B winner), and Saint Kitts and Nevis (Group C winner)
