Guatemalan Football Association

The Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the Guatemalan Football Association for multiple incidents during the match, including discriminatory chants directed at Suriname players by Guatemala supporters, objects thrown onto the field of play, and players’ involvement in a post-match confrontation.

The sanctions include multiple fines, a 25% partial stadium closure for Guatemala’s next home Concacaf Nations League match, and a requirement to submit a discrimination prevention plan for future home matches.

Additionally, Guatemala players Jonathan Franco and Carlos Estrada have each received three-match suspensions for their involvement in the post-match confrontation and related violent conduct.

Surinamese Football Association

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen for four matches, including three for his involvement in the post-match confrontation and one for unsporting behavior toward spectators. Staff member Johnny Gambier has also received a three-match suspension for violent conduct during the same confrontation.
