Khadija Shaw earns WSL honors

Jamaican star Khadija Shaw continues to make history, cementing her place among the world’s elite with another record-breaking season at Manchester City.

MIAMI – Concacaf and Jamaica star Khadija Shaw once again set the standard in women’s football at the global level, leading Manchester City through a dominant 2025/26 campaign.

With City locked in a tight title race in the Women’s Super League, Shaw was the driving force behind the attack, consistently delivering in decisive moments, and carrying the club to its second WSL title to end a decade-long drought.

Shaw set a new benchmark by winning the WSL Golden Boot for a record third consecutive season with 21 goals in 22 league matches. She was named the WSL Player of the Year and FWA Women’s Footballer of the Year for a second time in her career.

The Jamaican star became the first player to hit the 20-goal mark in three separate English top-flight campaigns. She broke new ground in the club’s history books with 26 goals in 31 matches across all competitions.

Her influence in the biggest matches proved defining. Shaw rose to the occasion throughout the campaign, including a brace to rescue her side from a two-goal deficit to send the club into the Women’s FA Cup Final, as City strives for a domestic double.

On the international stage, Shaw’s importance to Jamaica remained just as critical. She scored nine goals in four matches during the 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers, earning the Reggae Girlz a berth in the 2026 Concacaf W Championship, and reinforcing her role for a side building toward the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 and the LA 2028 Olympics.

Already a trailblazer for Caribbean football, Shaw has played a central role in Jamaica’s rise on the global stage. She helped her nation become the first Caribbean side to qualify for a Women’s World Cup in 2019, and the first to advance past the group stage in 2023.

With a season defined by dominance in the biggest moments, Shaw continues to elevate not only her club, but the profile of Concacaf talent worldwide — further cementing her legacy as one of the game’s elite forwards.
