Concacaf Coach Education Panel Meets in Miami to Set Strategic Technical Direction

MIAMI, Florida — The Concacaf Coach Education Panel convened recently in Miami to review the progress of the Concacaf Coaching Convention and provide strategic direction for technical development across the region. The meeting served as a key platform for updating regulatory frameworks and approving the advancement of Member Associations within the regional coaching structure.

Following recent audits, the approval of membership upgrades were a primary focus of the gathering. Suriname was officially welcomed as a C Level Member, while El Salvador was upgraded to A Level Membership, marking a significant step forward in their national coaching pathways. These upgrades reflect the ongoing efforts of Member Associations to meet the rigorous criteria set by the Coaching Convention.

The panel also discussed and accepted proposed modifications to the Coaching Convention Regulations, slated for the 2027 edition. Additionally, updates were provided on the elite Pro License courses, with Canada confirmed to launch its inaugural course this June, joining Mexico and Honduras in offering the Confederation’s highest coaching qualification.

“Coach education is the foundation of our long-term football development strategy,” said Concacaf Chief Football Development Officer Jason Roberts. “By establishing these standards and supporting our Member Associations through the Coaching Convention, we are ensuring that coaches across the region have access to the best possible training. This work is essential to raising the quality of the game at every level.”
