FC Motagua qualifies to the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.

SAN SALVADOR – The 2026 Concacaf Central American Cup continued on Wednesday with Alianza FC and FC Motagua playing to a scoreless draw, with the latter advancing 3-nil on aggregate in the Second Leg of their Quarterfinals series at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador, El Salvador.

It was a hard-fought defensive battle on both sides with neither team able to find the breakthrough moment, the Second Leg of the Quarterfinals series ending in a goalless draw.

Motagua used their First Leg advantage, securing a 3-nil aggregate score that made them advance to the Semifinals and also clinched a spot in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.

This marks the Honduran club’s first time in the Semifinals after being eliminated in the Quarterfinals in all three previous editions of the tournament. They remain unbeaten in this year’s edition of the Central American Cup with three wins and three draws.

FC Motagua will play LD Alajuelense or CD Marathón in the Semifinals in October.
