Cibao FC takes road victory over defending champion Mount Pleasant FA

Cibao FC earns three points over reigning champion Mount Pleasant.

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 2026 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continued on Tuesday with Cibao FC earning a 2-1 win over Mount Pleasant FA in Group B at National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

Cibao FC opened the scoring in the 43’ when Diego Ledesma deflected Victor Minotta’s shot into the back of the net.

Nickalia Fuller scored the equalizer for the defending Caribbean Cup champions in the 69’ with a low strike from outside the box.

The visitors notched the winner in the 80’ as Mariano Nichele connected with a strike and fired his shot home following a rebound from a defender’s clearance.

Mount Pleasant FA will continue its Caribbean Cup campaign with a match against Salcedo FC on September 2. Cibao FC’s next encounter will also be against Salcedo FC, as they face the side on September 10.
