MIAMI, Florida The action in Group F has come to an end at the 2022 Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship in the Dominican Republic, as Panama used a 5-0 win over Guyana to claim a berth in the knockout round.

The Canaleras took to the field at the Estadio Olimpico Felix Sanchez in Santo Domingo with their sights set on a full three points and a quick start with two goals in the first 10 minutes laid the groundwork for the commanding victory.

An early Guyana own goal in the 2’ settled the Panamanian nerves, and six minutes later in the 8’ it was 2-0 when Hilary Jaen steered home a shot.

Shayari Camarena extended the advantage to 3-0 in the 40’ with a header off a corner kick to complete the dream first half for Panama.

Elibeth Vasquez made it 4-0 in the 54’ by turning in a right-footed shot before Camarena tallied her second of the day in the 61’ with a strong volley off a cross to complete the 5-0 scoreline.

Despite their defeat, Guyana still qualified for the next round, along with Panama and Mexico.

The nightcap in Santo Domingo began with Honduras needing a win to claim the final knockout round spot from the group, but Mexico sought to make it three wins from three group stage matches and achieved that feat with a 5-0 victory.

Aylin Avilez continued her strong tournament with another two goals in the 4’ and 11’ to give Mexico a 2-0 lead. Alexia Villanueva then made it 3-0 in the 23’ followed by second half scores from Maritza Maldonado in the 64’ and Natalia Mauleon in the 66’ for the 5-0 final.
