Cerén brace powers El Salvador into Concacaf W Championship

El Salvador advances to the W Championship

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers continued with El Salvador securing a 2-nil win against Trinidad and Tobago in Group F on Friday at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

Captain Brenda Cerén found the opener for El Salvador in the 37’ with a powerful hit from the right end of the box. A bígail López provided the assist on the play with a line-splitting through ball.

Cerén doubled the lead for the visitors in the 51’, this time bringing down a long ball before breaking into the left side of the box and finding the back of the net with a curler to the far post.

The result sees El Salvador win Group F with a perfect 3-0-0 record to claim a spot in the 2026 Concacaf W Championship.

Trinidad and Tobago concluded its campaign in second place of Group F with four points and a 1-1-1 record.
