Caribbean Club Championship: Groups B & C Recap (Day 2)

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica – Montego Bay United, Cibao FC and Don Bosco were the winners on Friday in Group B and Group C in the 2017 Caribbean Club Championship as first-round play continued. Here are some highlights: GROUP B

• Cibao FC (Dominican Republic) made it two wins in a row, edging Unite Sainte-Rosienne (Guadeloupe), 1-0, thanks to Domingo Peralta’s fifth goal of the competition in the 78th minute. USR’s Kamil Louis Jean was ejected 25 minutes earlier.
• Kerlins Georges (13’, 26’, 33’, 45’, 62’) scored five goals as host Don Bosco (Haiti) posted an 11-0 win over Police FC (Montserrat). GROUP C
• Grenades FC (Antigua & Barbuda) rallied twice to draw 2-2 with Club Barcelona Atletico (Dominican Republic). Before being ejected in the 62nd minute, Jose Guerra (32’, 42’) gave Club Barcelona Atletico leads of 1-0 and 2-1. Rakeem Henry (36’) and Trevaughn Harriet (59’) struck for equalizers. Guerra and Harriet have three goals each in the competition.
• Montego Bay United (Jamaica) bounced back from a loss to Grenades on Wednesday to outdistance Elite SC (Cayman Islands), 5-0. Dino Williams (14’) gave a 1-0 lead to the host, which struck for four second-half goals, including two by Owayne Gordon (74’, 77’).
