Twelve teams confirm places Gold Cup Prelims

MIAMI, Florida – A total of 12 teams have confirmed their places in the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Prelims following the results of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League group stage.

The Gold Cup Prelims will feature 12 teams vying for three berths in the 2023 Gold Cup group stage.

The four third-place teams from League A, the four second-place teams from League B and the four first-place teams from League C will take part in the Gold Cup Prelims.

Below is the list of the teams confirmed for the 2023 Gold Cup Prelims.

Saint Lucia

The Caribbean nation will attempt to qualify for their first ever Gold Cup after finishing in top spot in Group C of League C. Saint Lucia finished ahead of Dominica and Anguilla to reach the Gold Cup Prelims.

Puerto Rico

The Boricuas are seeking a first ever Gold Cup group stage thanks to their first-place finish in Group D of League C. Puerto Rico finished ahead of group opponents Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands to qualify for the Prelims.

Sint Maarten

Sint Maarten captured Group A of League C on the final matchday of the group stage to punch their ticket to the Prelims. The Caribbean island are after a first ever Gold Cup qualification.

Saint Kitts and Nevis

Saint Kitts and Nevis posted a sparkling 3W-1D-0L record in Group B of League C to finish first in their group and qualify for the Prelims. The Sugar Boyz are attempting to reach the Gold Cup for a first time.

Guyana

Guyana made their Gold Cup debut in the 2019 edition and are keen to make a return trip in 2023 after finishing in second place in Group B of League B.

Guadeloupe

Semifinalists in their first Gold Cup in 2007, Guadeloupe will be hoping to qualify for their fifth Gold Cup after finishing second in Group A of League B.

French Guiana

French Guiana are targeting a second ever Gold Cup qualification after previously playing in the 2017 edition. French Guiana finished in second place of Group D of League B.

Trinidad and Tobago

The Caribbean heavyweights will be seeking a 12th Gold Cup appearance after a second place finish in Group C of League B. The Soca Warriors best finish came in 2000 when they reached the semifinals.

Martinique

After finishing in third place in Group B of League A, Martinique will be out to qualify for a fourth straight Gold Cup and a fifth one in six editions. Martinique’s best finish was in the quarterfinals in 2000.

Grenada

Grenada are taking aim at qualifying for their fourth Gold Cup, having appeared in the 2009, 2011 and 2021 editions. Grenada finished in third place in Group D of League A.

Curacao

Curacao have qualified for the last three Gold Cups and will try to make it four in a row via the Prelims. The Caribbean island’s best finish came in 2019 when they reached the quarterfinals. Curacao finished in third place in Group C of League A.

Suriname

Suriname will attempt to qualify for a second straight Gold Cup after making their debut in the tournament in the 2021 edition. Suriname finished in third place in Group A of League A.
