PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands -- Guadeloupe took home the honors in their first ever match against the Turks and Caicos Islands with a 3-0 victory in Group D of League C on Tuesday at the TCIFA National Academy in Providenciales.

The early proceedings were controlled by Guadeloupe, who applied constant pressure and kept the hosts pinned in their own half.

Turks and Caicos Islands defender Ledson Jerome had to make a heroic clearance off the line in the 11th minute, but in the aftermath, Guadeloupe were awarded a penalty, which was converted by Raphael Mirval to make it 1-0 to the visitors.

Guadeloupe came agonizingly close to a second, but were unable to capitalize and the scoreline remained only 1-0 at the break.

Les Gwada Boys remained on the offensive to open the second half, and earned another penalty for their efforts, as Mirval buried his second of the day in the 51st minute.

Turks and Caicos responded with increased intensity and had several quality chances in the following 15 minutes, but ultimately Guadeloupe tacked on a third with a fine display of passing, with Likendy Labylle getting the goal just seconds after being subbed on in the 84th minute.
