CNL League C Best XI led by Forbes, Lake and Frederick

MIAMI, Florida – The 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League group stage has come to an end for the 13 teams involved in League C. There were many great performances during the March window of games, yet these 11 players stood out the most at their respective positions.

GK Ramius Stiehler, US Virgin Islands – Stiehler was superb in his lone appearance in this window, conceding only one goal in a narrow 1-0 loss to Turks & Caicos Islands. He made seven saves and had 13 clearances in the game.

DF Mitchell de Nooijer, Sint Maarten – Sint Maarten emerged as Group A winners with De Nooijer playing a big part in the 6-1 win over Bonaire and 2-1 victory against USVI. He made seven steals, four clearances and had an assist.

DF Sidney Paris, Puerto Rico – It was a six-point window for Puerto Rico, with Paris making two steals and three clearances while completing almost 90 percent of his passes.

DF Kurt Frederick, Saint Lucia – Saint Lucia also made it two wins in two games to finish Group C with a perfect record. Frederick had two goals in the 3-1 win over Dominica, while adding a steal and three clearances.

MF Gregson President, Saint Lucia – President had a goal in each game, the 2-1 win at Anguilla and the 3-1 triumph over Dominica. He finished as the highest rated midfielder by completing almost 90 percent of his passes and making four steals.

MF Jeff Beljour, Turks & Caicos Islands – Turks & Caicos Islands ended their campaign on a winning note with two wins and Beljour was in the middle of it, scoring the lone goal in the 1-0 win versus USVI. He also had a steal.

MF Devin Vega, Puerto Rico – Vega had a goal in the 3-1 win at British Virgin Islands and also collected an assist to help the Boricuas finish with a perfect record.

MF Oliver Hobgood, Sint Maarten – Hobgood completed over 91 percent of his passes and picked up an assist on top of three steals and two clearances.

FW Gerwin Lake, Sint Maarten – Lake finished as the top scorer in the entire CNL with eight goals, half of them coming in the March window. He had a hat trick against Bonaire and the opening goal at USVI.

FW Billy Forbes, Turks & Caicos Islands – Forbes struck for a pair of first half goals to power Turks & Caicos Islands to the 2-1 win at Bonaire on the final matchday. He also had an assist during the window.

FW Keithroy Freeman, Saint Kitts & Nevis – Saint Kitts & Nevis won Group B with Freeman playing a massive role, scoring both goals in the 2-0 win versus Aruba.
