ROSEAU, Dominica – Dominica was victorious 1-0 over Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Monday in Group D of League B in the 2019-20 Concacaf Nations League at the Windsor Park Sport Stadium in Roseau, Dominica.

The home side had the better first half opportunities, but the likes of Julian Wade and Sidney Lockhart were denied by Saint Vincent and the Grenadines goalkeeper Dwaine Sandy.

Dominica finally broke through on the scoresheet, as Audel Laville found the back of the net in the 71st minute. It marked the 17-year-old forward’s first international goal in only his second senior international appearance.

Goalkeeper Glenson Prince then kept the clean sheet alive with back-to-back saves in the 78th minute to deny Nazir Mcburnette and Mark Browne, respectively.

Dominica held on to pick up their first CNL win and finish with a 1-0-5 record through the group stage. They will form part of League C for the tournament’s next edition.

With the loss, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines now await the result of Nicaragua versus Suriname to learn their fate. Vincy Heat can gain promotion to League A, and qualify for the 2021 Gold Cup with a Nicaragua victory.
