Team Profile

After starting out as the Netherlands Antilles, a Concacaf charter member, the Curaçao Football Federation celebrated its centennial in 2021 and can look back on many moments that make 100 years of history worth celebrating.

The men’s national team recently has enjoyed a resurgence, staying in League A of the Nations League after finishing just one point off the lead in Group D of the inaugural edition of the competition. That led to a third consecutive berth in the Concacaf Gold Cup after an historic debut in 2017 and a first-ever win in 2019.

The squad also made it to the second round of World Cup qualification, running up an all-time high of three wins while playing under the Curacao flag, though ultimately, they fell to Panama and came up just short of the final round.

Curaçao is able to call on a number of players and coaches who have transcended in global football, notably with former Netherlands striker Patrick Kluivert stepping in as national team coach and helping to shepherd the program along as it looks to stay in Concacaf Nations League A and begin to challenge for Concacaf crowns.

A new era also is beginning in the women’s game, with Curaçao eager to get on the Road to the W Gold Cup.
