Team Profile

Anguilla has one of the smallest populations of any Concacaf nation, yet it is working to do big things with its national teams.

Since its founding in 1990, the Anguilla Football Association has worked to push the British overseas territory with a population of around 15,000 to a higher level.

That recently has included a friendly win ahead of World Cup qualification for the senior men’s team, plus a few near-misses in Nations League, including a narrow 3-2 defeat to Puerto Rico in League C in October of 2019.

The FA also has boasted a new brand identity, with a crisp new logo and colorful new jerseys that have turned heads around the Caribbean.

It’s not just the senior men’s team looking good, though. Anguilla is working to hit new heights with its women’s national team as well, participating in W Championship qualifying with an exciting young generation of players.

It also has a robust local league, which quickly made sure pandemic protocols were in place to allow play to continue in 2020 and beyond with regular powers like Roaring Lions, Kicks United and Doc’s United able to compete for local supremacy, plus the competition between various ‘house’ teams that make up the island’s school setup.
