ORLANDO, Florida – Orlando City Soccer Club selected Thursday Canada international forward Cyle Larin with the number one overall pick in the 2015 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft.

In 2014, Larin was the University of Connecticut’s top scorer with nine goals.  He was also named American Athletic Conference offensive player of the year after ending the season first in game-winning goals (3) and goals per game (0.56).

"We believe that we've picked the best player in the draft," said Orlando City head coach Adrian Heath.  “Cyle has incredible potential, and we're looking forward to working with him."

Larin, who is currently competing for Canada at the 2015 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship in Jamaica, made his full international debut against Bulgaria on May 23, 2014, and has earned three caps.
