COMMERCE CITY, Colorado -- With the highly-anticipated confrontation between the United States and Mexico slated for June 11, it could be easy to overlook the fact that the Americans are hosting Trinidad & Tobago in a FIFA World Cup Qualifier on Thursday night.

The U.S. players, though, haven’t forgotten.

"Huge game for us,” said striker Clint Dempsey. “Must win.”

Both teams need victories, especially since they sit outside of the automatic qualifying places. The U.S. (1W-1D-2L, 4 points) sits fourth in the six-team table, while T&T (1W-0D-3L, 3) occupies last place.

"I think Bruce [Arena, U.S. head coach] has got everyone pretty grounded, pretty focused on this game," goalkeeper Tim Howard commented. "Mexico will give us a world of trouble if we don't get the points here that we need. So, everyone knows what's at stake on Thursday."

In 16 all-time WCQ meetings between them, the U.S. holds 12-1 advantage in wins over the Trinidadians, posting a 7W-1D-0L record at home.
