PANAMA CITY, Panama – On the heels of two narrow losses over the last week, Panama head coach Hernan Dario Gomez announced Thursday that he’ll open a pre-World Cup Qualifying training camp later this month with 15 locally-based players.
Eight players on the rosters of 2015/16 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League participants Arabe Unido and San Francisco highlight the group, which will be convened over two periods: October 26-29 and November 2-5.
The Canaleros are slated to launch their qualifying campaign for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on November 13 at Jamaica.
In friendlies on October 9 and 13, respectively, Panama fell at home to visiting Trinidad & Tobago (2-1) and on the road to Mexico (1-0).
