GEORGETOWN, Guyana -- Guyana named Saturday a strong 21-man squad for the first leg of its World Cup Qualifying, second-round series at St. Vincent & the Grenadines on June 10.

Carolina Railhawks midfielder Christopher Nurse has been retained as captain of the Golden Jaguars, who also feature a number of English-based players including Matthew Briggs (Millwall), Neil Danns (Bolton Wanderers) and Ricky Shakes (Boreham FC), as well as potential debutants defender Samuel Cox (Borehman Wood FC) and 19-year-old forward Marcel Barrington (Leicester City).

Head coach Jamaal Shabazz said that 38 players were involved in the trials over the past few weeks, noting that the competition for spots was intense.

The return game is slated for Sunday June 14 at Providence Stadium in Providence, Guyana.
