SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – In preparation for a pair of upcoming friendlies, El Salvador opened a six-day training camp Monday with a group of domestic-based players.

Head coach Ramon Maradiaga extended invitations to 13 squad members, but a two have adjusted programs. Forward Rafael Burgos was given special permission to miss the first day in order to settle some items with his club USAC, while FAS’s Moises Xavier Garcia was given a reduced regimen – as requested by his club -- in consideration of tendinitis issues in both Achilles tendons.

El Salvador, which currently sits fourth in Group A of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, will face Peru on May 28 in Washington, D.C., and Armenia on June 1, in Carson, California.
