MIAMI, Florida – On Wednesday, August 19, following the completion of the Concacaf Qualifiers First Round draw (1:00 pm ET), FIFA will conduct a draw to determine the schedule for the Final Round.
The Final Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers will involve the top five ranked teams in Concacaf, based on the FIFA World Rankings as of July 16, 2020 (Mexico, United States, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Honduras) and the three match-up winners of the Second Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers.
The teams and positions will be divided into two pots as follows:
Pot A (teams): Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Honduras, Winner 1A vs 1F, Winner 1B vs 1E and Winner 1C vs 1D.
Pot B (positions): Position 1, Position 2, Position 3, Position 4, Position 5, Position 6, Position 7 and Position 8.
The draw will identify positions for each team in the Final Round. Each sphere drawn from Pot A will be followed by a sphere from Pot B, until both pots have been emptied and all eight teams have been allocated a position.
There will be seven different FIFA Windows in which the eight teams will be play their respective 14 matches.
The dates of the FIFA Windows are as follows:
Window 1 – June 2021
Window 2 – June 2021
Window 3 – September 2021
Window 4 – October 2021
Window 5 – November 2021
Window 6 – January 2022
Window 7 – March 2022
