MIAMI The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Quarterfinals pits the United States and Costa Rica on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The United States has advanced to the Knockout Stage of the tournament for the 18th consecutive edition. Costa Rica has advanced past the Group Stage for the 16th occasion and 14th consecutive.

USA seeks to regain Gold Cup peak

The U.S. opened its campaign with a 3-0-0 record in the Group Stage. The seven-time winners opened their campaign with a 5-nil victory against Trinidad and Tobago, a 1-nil win over Saudi Arabia, and a 2-1 win against Haiti.

Malik Tillman leads the tournament hosts with three goals. Diego Luna and Max Arfsten lead the team with two assists each.

Costa Rica arrives unbeaten and confident

Costa Rica has also had an undefeated start, playing to a 2-1-0 record for a second-place finish in Group A. Los Ticos began their campaign with a 4-3 comeback victory against Suriname, followed by a 2-1 comeback against the Dominican Republic and a nil-nil draw with Mexico.

Josimar Alcócer delivered back-to-back winning goals and has been one of the team’s important players in attack alongside Manfred Ugalde, the nation’s leading scorer in the current edition with three goals. Legendary goalkeeper Keylor Navas also excelled with 11 saves in the Group Stage.
