MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup will see Canada make its 17th appearance in the tournament.

Canada will feature in Group B against Honduras, El Salvador, and Curaçao. The Reds will seek to win a second trophy and first under American manager Jesse Marsch.

The nation’s latest qualification came as one of the quarterfinal winners in the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League. The series against Suriname was an eventful one for Canada, winning 4-nil on aggregate to advance to the CNL Finals and Gold Cup.

Junior Hoilett scored the lone goal in the first leg at Suriname. A Jacob Shaffelburg brace and Jonathan David led to the 3-nil victory in the return match at BMO Field in Toronto.

Canada fell to eventual champions Mexico, 2-nil, in the semifinals. The Canucks finished the tournament on a positive note by winning the Third-Place Match 2-1 against the United States thanks to goals from Tani Oluwaseyi and Jonathan David.
