MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup continues with Honduras facing Curaçao in Group B on Tuesday at PayPal Park in San Jose, California, USA.
Honduras currently sits second in Group B with three points after a loss and a win in its first two group stage matchups. Los Catrachos most recently topped El Salvador 2-nil to claim its first win of the campaign through goals by Romell Quioto and Dixon Ramírez.
Curaçao enters unbeaten with two points after collecting two draws in its opening fixtures. The Caribbean nation recently drew 1-1 against Canada in dramatic fashion, with Jeremy Antonisse netting the equalizer in the 90’+4’.
Honduras and Curaçao will meet for the second time in Concacaf Gold Cup history. Their first showdown came on June 21, 2019, in Group C action at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, where Curaçao earned a 1-0 victory thanks to a 40th minute strike from Leandro Bacuna.
Their most recent encounter came during the 2022/23 Concacaf Nations League on June 6, 2022, at Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula. Curaçao shocked the hosts with a 2-1 win for its first-ever official Concacaf tournament win on Honduran soil. Leandro Bacuna and Anthony van den Hurk struck for the visitors, while Quioto scored for the hosts.

There is, however, historical precedent for Curaçao winning in Tegucigalpa. Back on August 20, 1955, Curaçao defeated Honduras 2-0 in the CCCF Championship (pre-dating Concacaf’s formation), with goals from Hubert Schoop and Erno Jansen.
The last time they played on neutral ground outside of the U.S. was during World Cup Qualifying for Germany 1974. On December 12, 1973, in Port-au-Prince, the two teams played to a 2-2 draw. Rigoberto Sosa and Rubén “Chamaco” Guifarro scored for Honduras, while Reginald Clemencia and Erroll Jago found the net for Curaçao.
