MIAMI, Florida – The Concacaf Gold Cup will return to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for the fifth time this summer at the 2021 Gold Cup.

Able to hold as many as 85,000 football spectators, AT&T Stadium was the site of Gold Cup matches during the 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2017 tournaments and has a history of hosting some of the tournament’s biggest matches.

In 2009, AT&T Stadium hosted its first Gold Cup matches in the quarterfinal stage in which Costa Rica defeated Guadeloupe 5-1, followed by Mexico’s 4-0 triumph over Haiti.

Two years later at the 2011 tournament, Costa Rica and Mexico were once again back in action at AT&T Stadium in the group stage, with Costa Rica earning a 5-0 win against Cuba and Mexico downing El Salvador 5-0.

AT&T Stadium would enjoy a return of Gold Cup knockout round football in the 2013 edition, with both semifinals played at the stadium.

In the opening semifinal, eventual champions the United States topped Honduras 3-1, before Panama earned their second win over Mexico during the 2013 Gold Cup in a 2-1 final.

History repeated itself for the U.S. in the 2017 Gold Cup, as they found themselves in the semifinals and once against at AT&T Stadium.

This time the U.S. were up against Costa Rica and would emerge with a 2-0 victory on their way to lifting the title.
