SAN JOSE, Calif. – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup continued with Honduras securing a 2-1 victory against Curaçao in Group B on Tuesday at PayPal Park in San Jose, California, USA.
Jorge Álvarez struck in the 32’ to give Honduras the lead, scoring from long range with a right-footed rocket.
Curaçao levelled the scoring in the 42’ through an own from Honduras’ goalkeeper Edrick Menjívar.
Romell Quioto nearly reestablished the lead for Honduras in the 71’ with a right-footed hit that hit the woodwork.
Luis Palma netted the winner for Honduras in 90’+1’, with a powerful left-footed finish to capitalize on an assist from Carlos Pineda.
With the win, Honduras reached six points to finish in second place in Group B. Los Catrachos will meet Panama in the Quarterfinals.
Curaçao closed out its participation in the 2025 edition with a 0-2-1 record.
