SAN JOSE, Calif. – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup continued as Curaçao and El Salvador played to a nil-nil draw in Group B on Tuesday at PayPal Park in San Jose, California. 

Leandro Bacuna had an early chance for Curaçao in the 13’, but his left-footed shot from a tight angle was met by a save from El Salvador goalkeeper Mario González. 

Jairo Henríquez had a look from outside the box in the 25’ for La Selecta, with his right-footed strike saved in the center of the goal by Curaçao’s Eloy Room. 

Jearl Margaritha had back-to-back attempts for the Caribbean nation in the second half. First, he hit the crossbar in the 64’ with a right-footed shot from the right side of the box, followed by a ground shot across goal in the 66’ that was saved by González.  

Livano Comenencia came close to netting the winner for Curaçao in the 75’, following a delivery to the center of the box from Jürgen Locadia, with a left-footed strike that was just wide of the right post.

Both goalkeepers delivered solid performances in goal en route to securing clean sheets. Curaçao’s Room finished the match with two saves, while Guatemala’s González recorded three saves. 

Group B action will resume with a doubleheader on Saturday in Houston, Texas. Curaçao will face Canada followed by El Salvador taking on Honduras.
