SAN JOSE, Calif. – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup kicked off its second matchday with the United States earning a 5-nil win against Trinidad and Tobago in Group D on Sunday at PayPal Park in San Jose, California.

Malik Tillman opened the scoring in the 16’, placing the U.S. in front with a right-footed shot from the left side of the box. Jack McGlynn collected the assist while Tillman struck his first goal with the U.S. men’s national team.

Tillman secured his brace in the 41’, with a finish from the edge of the six-yard box. Diego Luna provided the assist after recovering the ball in the final third.

Patrick Agyemang added another goal before the half time, extending the U.S. lead in the 44’ by redirecting a shot from Luna.

Brenden Aaronson added to the U.S. tally in the 82’, striking inside the box eight minutes after entering as a substitute.

Haji Wright added a fifth for the U.S. in the 84’, with a right-foot shot in the middle of the box to place a bow on the victory.

Trinidad and Tobago will look to rebound when it meets Haiti in Houston, Texas when Group D resumes on Thursday. The United States will meet Saudi Arabia in Austin, Texas in search of its second set of three points.
