SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Semifinals saw defending champions Mexico win 1-nil against Honduras on Wednesday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, USA. 

Anthony Lozano had an early chance for Honduras in the 6’, with a left-footed hit from outside the box that was just wide of the right post.  

Johan Vásquez nearly opened the scoring to put Mexico in the lead in the 37’, but his attempt was met by a key defensive block the Honduras backline. 

Honduras goalkeeper Edrick Menjívar delivered an important save in the 42’ to keep the match scoreless, saving a shot from Marcel Ruíz at the right bottom corner. 

Raúl Jiménez notched the winner for Mexico in the 50’, striking with a powerful right-footed finish from the center of the box after being assisted by Gilberto Mora. 

Mexico goalkeeper Luis Malagón registered a save en route to a fourth clean sheet in five appearances.

Mexico will play the United States for the trophy on Sunday at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
