MIAMI – Young talent and future stars of women’s football can be found everywhere around the world. This is the case for Concacaf and Mexican Women’s National Team player Tatiana Flores, who became the latest signing for Real Oviedo in the Spanish second division, the Primera Federacion Femenina.

After developing her skills in the Arsenal and Chelsea academies, the 17-year-old forward Tatiana Flores signed her first professional contract with Real Oviedo on loan from the Blues.

Her signing comes after showing her game in both London clubs' academies and being one of the key players for the Under-17 Mexican Women’s National Team in the World Cup this past October in India, in which El Tricolor fought in every game, before leaving the competition in the group stage. Flores started all three matches for Mexico in India.

She was also a key player in the 2022 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Championship, in which Mexico got as far as the final, earning the Runner-up position behind the United States. Flores scored nine goals in the tournament to finish as its third-leading scorer.

The scenario repeated itself at the Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship, in which she was part of the squad, playing in seven games and scoring one goal.

Known for her speed, game-changing abilities, goal-scoring capacity, and how she manages the ball, Flores is a great addition for the Real Oviedo squad, currently sitting in eighth place of the table. The team will also be competing in the Copa de la Reina, a competition in which teams from the first and second division face each other for one of the biggest trophies in the country.

Flores will not be able to debut with her new team until January, due to the timing of her loan, nonetheless, she has been training for more than two weeks with her new squad, getting used to the Spanish style of play.

Next up for Real Oviedo will be to go back to playing in the Primer Federacion, fighting for getting up in the table, and getting ready for the first matches for the Copa de la Reina. Flores will be waiting to get on the pitch and help her new team go as far as possible this season.
