The NWSL is full of excitement as the season reaches the halfway point.

  • The Portland Thorns sit atop the table after drawing 3-3 with the North Carolina Courage. Sophia Smith opened the scoring for Portland, Morgan Weaver kept the count going and Smith showed up again with the third one for her team. On the Courage side, rookie Diana Ordonez managed to score twice, while Jaelene Daniels scored the late equalizer.

  • The Orlando Pride managed to draw 2 -2 to Angel City on Sunday evening, after having to come back twice in the game. ACFC Captain Ali Riley scored the first one of the night, while Cari Roccaro made the second for the California team. The home side had the services of Julie Doyle and Paige Nielsen to secure a point at the end of the match.

 

LIGA MX FEMENIL just finished week six, with the battle for the eight spots that lead to the Liguilla starting to heat up.

  • Chivas aren’t intimidated by the title of Campeonas, as they got their sixth consecutive win, sitting on top of the standings as they keep marching to the Liguilla, managing to down Toluca on Sunday 2-0.

  • Argentina internationals Mariana Larroquette, Romina Munoz and Ruth Bravo made their Liga MX Femenil debut for Club Leon, who drew 2-2 with Club America, in one of the most anticipated games of the week. The Mexico City team also had a debut, as French international Aurelie Kaci scored her first goal as an Aguila.

  • To close week 6, Tijuana welcomed the most talked about team of the league at the moment, Pachuca. The match was a thrilling one from the beginning until the end, finishing 3-3 and a point for each team. Charlyn Corral was the star of the night, scoring her first hat trick as a Tuza.
