MIAMI – A footballer with great talent, dedication for the game and skills is recognized everywhere, all year long. Midfielder Priscilla Chinchilla has been showing what she brings to the pitch both in the Costa Rica Women’s National Team and in her current club, Glasgow FC of Scotland.

The 21-year-old signed with the Scottish side in 2020 after shining in her previous clubs in Costa Rica, where she registered more than 80 goals, making her a three-time champion. This determination and hard work put her on the international map, and she would ultimately land at Glasglow FC.

Chinchilla has scored more than 30 goals with Glasgow FC, being a key player for the team, helping her teammates create more chances and dominating the Scottish Women’s Premier League, the first division in Scotland. They now sit in first place, having won four out of their five last games.

If she is not being a game-changer with her club, Chinchilla is also a very important player in her National Team both at the youth and senior team level. She was part of the 2018 squad that played the U-17 Concacaf Women’s Championship, playing three games in which she scored two goals.

However, Chinchilla’s name has been part of the Senior squad since she was 16 years old, the age in which she made her debut with La Sele Mayor.

Following her good performance in the youth teams, she was called up to be part of Costa Rica’s squad that traveled to Monterrey, Mexico earlier this year for the Concacaf W Championship, to fight for a spot in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia / New Zealand.

Placed in Group B, she was a constant part of the initial XI that played against Canada, Panama and Trinidad & Tobago. The hard work paid off, as Chinchilla and Costa Rica left the group stages in second place, earning a spot in the next Women’s World Cup.

Upon returning to Scotland, she went on to perform at her best on the field, being named “Player of the Month '' repeatedly, a recognition that ultimately allowed her to be named the 2022 PFA Scotland Women’s Player of the Year in the first edition of this award.

Now, Glasgow FC will focus on keeping their tally in the League, as well as getting ready for the Scottish Cup, a tournament that they are no strangers to, having won it nine times. No doubt that Chinchilla and the rest of the squad have their eyes on adding another trophy to their cabinet.
